The Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova, officially Complexo Esportivo Cultural Professor Octávio Mangabeira is a football stadium located in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
This new stadium having a capacity of 56,000 spectators has been constructed for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the subsequent 2014 FIFA World Cup and football competition of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The stadium was built in place of the older Estádio Fonte Nova which was built in 1951. This new stadium was inaugurated on April 7, 2013.
A public-private joint venture, the new complex will house a panoramic restaurant, museum of football, car parks, shops, hotels and a concert hall.
The stadium will host six games of FIFA 2014 World Cup including one Round-of-16 match and one quarter-final.
The stadium is being owned by the Government of Bahia and will be operated by Fonte Nova Negócios e Participações S/A.
